How to apply Nail Art Foil
Glue, No Glue, or Gel: Which Should You Use?
The type of adhesive you choose depends on the coverage you want:
-
No glue – Foils can still stick, but the result may be patchy.
-
Foil glue – Offers better adherence and near-full coverage, though still may leave some gaps.
-
Foil Gel base – Provides the best adherence and smoothest finish, allowing full nail coverage.
With Nail Foil Glue:
Apply a thin, even layer of nail foil glue over your nails. The glue will go on white but dries clear, so don’t worry if you can’t see it after a few minutes. Let the adhesive dry completely—this usually takes a couple of minutes—before applying the foil.
With Foil Gel:
Foil gel is a bit thicker and stickier than regular nail glue, offering stronger adhesion for your nail foils. Apply a thin, even layer to each nail. If your foil gel is labeled “UV/LED,” cure it under a UV or LED lamp for the recommended time. If it doesn’t require curing, simply let it air dry for a couple of minutes before applying the foil.
